Gospel of Mark - Mark 1:14-20 - Prog 09

After coming into Galilee, in northern Israel, Jesus began preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the Jewish people. The Kingdom of God was at hand because the King was there and they were to accept and believe in Him who is their coming Messiah. Now while Jesus was in the area of Galilee, he begins to call His first men, 4 fishermen, to follow Him. You will note there were two pairs of brothers who, possibly, were also partners in the fishing business. Dr. Mitchell explains more of the relationships between these brothers in this lesson. Notice their immediate obedience in following the savior. The savior is going to prepare them to be fishers of men, seeking men who need Jesus and giving them the good news. Here is Dr. Mitchell.
