Gospel of Luke 24:45-53 - Prog 108

Picking up from where we left off, we now finish out the Gospel of Luke here in chapter 24:45-53. Jesus, after opening their minds to understand the Scriptures concerning Him, He goes on to tell the disciples what they should now preach and teach. They were first hand witnesses of the risen Christ. Jesus then tells them that once He has ascended to the Father, He would send the promise of the Father. What is this promise from the Father? The promise is the Holy Spirit of God. Luke finishes out this chapter with a similar description of Jesus’ ascension into heaven, which he will continue in his book, the book of Acts. The Lord then will send the Holy Spirit, as He promised.
