Gospel of Luke 21:20-24 - Prog 91

Our study continues in Luke 21:20 with Jesus’ words concerning the city of Jerusalem. Here the Lord gives conditions and warnings to His own. As we learn, these predictions came to pass some 40 years later in 70 A.D. All these things will come to pass in order to fulfill Scripture. There are Scriptures which reference Israel such as Deuteronomy 28:63-66. The times of the Gentiles are here in Luke 21:24. Luke only uses this phrase, “the times of the Gentiles” found in this verse. As Dr. Mitchell explains, the times of the Gentiles is the entire period of time that the Jewish nation is under Gentile domination. This domination began with the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel 2 in 603 B.C. and continues to this day.
