Description

This is the Unchanging Word Bible study. Our teacher, Dr. John G. Mitchell, continues our study in John 19 verses 30-42.
In these verses, two of Jesus' secret disciples, righteous men from among the rulers of the Jews, found courage to ask Pilate for the body of Jesus.

They were Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus.
Only the apostle John mentions Nicodemus as being with Joseph.
The other three gospels only mention Joseph.

Dr. Mitchell notes that these men loved Jesus and they alone buried the Lord in Joseph's own hand hewn tomb.
This speaks of loving sacrifice.

Dr. Mitchell will speak of the burial of Jesus and will give us insights.
By comparing two gardens and by comparing Jesus' burial with Jonah in the belly of the great fish,
we see Jesus in the Scriptures.

So with your Bible open John chapter 19, verse 38, here is Dr. John G. Mitchell here in the Unchanging Word.
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unchanging-word/message
