Gospel of John 17:17-19 - Jesus' prayer for sanctification of the disciples through the Word of God - Prog 86

<p>The Unchanging Word bible study with Dr.John G. Mitchell continues in John 17 at verse 17.</p> <p>As Jesus in His prayer has made a distinction between the believer and the world, He now proceeds to show us how that distinction is made.</p> <p>This distinction is made on the basis of the truth.<br> On the basis of the truth, the believer in the Lord Jesus is set apart from the world to God.<br> The Biblical and theological term for this is sanctification.</p> <p>Here Jesus speaks of sanctification.<br> Jesus makes the point that this sanctification is through the Word of God.<br> This is the means by which God sanctifies e.g. sets apart the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ to Himself and out of the world.</p> <p>Dr. Mitchell will emphasize the importance of the Word of God as he explores these verses.<br> So turn with us to John 17 verse 17.
