<p>In closing this letter and the Cover letter, Nichiren makes clear his intent for the letter to bring relevant scholarship to impending debates by lesser schools still operating in Japan as they seek to take advantage of the perceived retirement of Nichiren. Nichiren cautions his disciples to use this scholarship for deep learning and defense in debate, but that this knowledge be shared very judiciously with student s who may not pe prepared or studied enough to understand the implications and may react poorly.</p>
