God’s Promises 4 our Profiting Pt 8

<p>Wednesday 29th July 2020 &nbsp;&nbsp;Hello and a beautiful Wednesday morning to you in the name of Jesus.&nbsp;</p> <p>I’m sure your week has been going well. We are talking about how we can process God’s promise and make it real in our life. There’s no use for the word of God to just be read, whether in print or electronic form and not find practical expression in our lives. The Bible says “the letter kills but the Spirit gives life”. God wants His word to affect our lives and we see this process has been written in Proverbs 4:20-22 &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The starting point is giving attention to His word. What does it mean to give attention to His word? It means create space for God’s word in your life. It means take time to know what the word says. &nbsp;1Corinthians 2:9 says “it is written” that’s the starting point. We must know what is written. If you don’t know what is written, you cannot do anything with God and how do you know what is written? You give attention to it. You make yourself available to read it, study it, research it, memorize it, meditate on it. That is the starting point. When the devil came to meet Jesus to tempt him on the mount, how did Jesus resist him? He said “it is written”. How did Jesus know? He read it. The word of God just didn’t flow into Jesus’ head just because He is the Son of God. He read it. The Bible says in Isaiah 34:16 &nbsp;&nbsp;““Search from the book of the LORD, and read: Not one of these shall fail; Not one shall lack her mate. For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.” &nbsp;&nbsp;Notice the first part says “search from the book of the Lord...and read”. You want God’s word to bring profit in your life? You want to see the power of the promises? You want to be delivered from the evil and wickedness of this
