GBW #93: A Schlock at the Cabin (Pumpkinhead / Creature Cabin aka Tarnation / Frostbiter: Wrath of the Windigo)

<p>Hello, and welcome to another episode of The Good, The Bad, and The What!? The show in which we discuss three films that we have deemed &quot;good,&quot; &quot;bad,&quot; or &quot;what!?&quot; within a subgenre, theme, motif, director or actor&#39;s filmography, and more!<br></p> <p>This week, in honor of &quot;Evil Dead Rise&quot; (currently in theaters and available for rent or purchase on PVOD), Chris and Ryan dive into three cabin-bound creature features inspired by Sam Raimi&#39;s original masterwork. We start with 1988&#39;s &quot;Pumpkinhead&quot; from the late VFX maestro Stan Winston. While the story wobbles a bit in the back half, it has an impenetrable atmosphere, genuine sorrow, beautiful cinematography, a stellar creature, and a great lead turn from Lance Henriksen. Then, we move into a 2017 piece of DTV junk called &quot;Creature Cabin&quot; aka &quot;Tarnation.&quot; It&#39;s no fun knocking on a no-budget film, but we argue that in the realm of &quot;Evil Dead&quot; knock-offs that it misses the mark entirely.
