GBW #50: Down by the Bay (Pain & Gain / 6 Underground / Bad Boys II)

<p>Hello, and welcome to another episode of The Good, The Bad, and The What!? The show in which we discuss three films that we have deemed "good," "bad," or "what!?" within a subgenre, theme, motif, director or actor's filmography, and more!</p> <p>This week, with the recent release of "<strong>Ambulance</strong>," Ryan and Chris look back on the career of <strong>Michael Bay</strong>, specifically through the vulgar auteurist's R-rated features (not only because of "Ambulance's" R-rating, but because nearly all of his PG-13 films - which includes five "Transformers" flicks - are rank). We start with 2013's "<strong>Pain &amp; Gain</strong>," which is essentially Bay's version of "<strong>Fargo</strong>" meets "<strong>Goodfellas</strong>" but also a dead-bang critique on American greed and idiocy. Then, we move into 2019's "<strong>6 Underground</strong>," a franchise non-starter with a couple good action scenes but an irritating structure and nonsensical storyline.
