From Kaiserslautern to Centivax w/ Dr. Jean-Philippe Burckert

<p>In this episode, Jan and RJ interview Dr. Jean-Philippe Burckert. JP received his Master’s in Chemistry with a specialization in Life Sciences from the University of Kaiserslautern in 2012 and completed his Ph.D. studies at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) in Bioinformatics and Computational Immunology.</p> <p>His Ph.D. work was presented at over 20 international conferences. After academia, JP joined the Bioinformatics consulting firm BISC Global as Senior Bioinformatics Consultant, where he helped to establish the new department in Boston, MA.</p> <p>Leveraging his rare skillset in deciphering immune repertoires, JP worked with over a dozen small and large pharma and biotech companies in the Cambridge and SF Bay area providing the specialized bioinformatics capacity for their immune-oncology, autoimmune disease, antibody discovery and vaccine design groups.</p> <p>JP is now the head of the computational and informatics efforts at Centivax and leads an amazing team of scientists and informaticists.</p> <p>In a statement on his episode: </p> <p>“Jake set me up for success by putting together an amazing group of young scientists: Timothy “Tim” Young, our software engineer, Rachel Hovde our statistics and machine learning genius, Aishani Aatresh, a 17-year-old computational immunology magician and Michali Izhaky a biologist who wants to move into bioinformatics - and has done so successfully and in rapid time.
