<p><strong>DVD With Niyi Adekunle</strong></p> <p><strong>Wednesday 12th May</strong></p> <p>Friendship Prayer. 3</p> <p>I believe friendship prayer is the highest form of prayer and it is the most effective way to pray. Friendship prayer brings you into a deeper level of relationship with God and from that depth you are able to pray the will of God more accurately.</p> <p>Our relationship with God is based on a covenant. Romans 8: 15 says we have the spirit of adoption whereby cry out to God saying, “Abba Father”. Abba is a pet name, an informal name for Father, like “Daddy”. So, our relationship with God is first informal as “Daddy” but on the formal side, He is also our King. We need to know Him as both, but what really gives the advantage is knowing Him as Father and friend.</p> <p>John 15:15 (NIV), <em><strong>I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.</strong></em></p> <p>When we relate with God as a friend, we He opens His heart to us as. In a family setting, children can grow to become friends with their fathers. I had such a relationship with my father. Though my dad was a military officer and you’d expect him to be tough, he had a friendship relationship with his children. We related with ease, laughed and joked together. There was no feeling of terror or trepidation around him and we could share heart to heart on issues. God is a father like that.</p> <p>Though God is the almighty, the king of all the earth and a consuming fire, He is still “daddy”.&nbsp; He hates sin but He loves you and desires your friendship. If you check through the Bible, people who had great impact had friendship relationships with God, they spent quality time with God. This same principle applies today.</p> <p>Friendship prayer is very important, it’s an invitation into God's inner chambers where we He shares His secrets with us.
