<p>Tuesday 11th&nbsp;May &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Friendship Prayer. 2</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>How do you get babies or toddlers to learn how to talk? Did their parents have to teach them how to speak? Did they have to learn rules and regulations about speaking, the right and wrong way to ask for things etc? I do not think so. Babies and toddlers learn how to talk instinctively and by interacting with their parents. The point of contact is interaction. So also, it is for us as Christians.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>As God’s children, our prayer should evolve out of interaction with God and not out of prayer rules and religion. God is our father. The reason why most people struggle with prayer is because their first introduction to prayers came out of rules and regulations and not a love relationship. The purpose of our prayer as we established already is fellowship or friendship, prayer from this position is life transforming. The bible says that walking with the wise will make you wise. If you want to become like Jesus, just hang around Him long enough and you’ll be like Him. If you want to be like God, you have to hang around God long enough and you’ll begin to learn His ways.</p> <p>This is the basis friendship prayer.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>If your little child just calls out to you, I’m sure you won’t first analyse the call to see the type of call it is before you respond. However, as that child grows and develops, he or she begins to understand how to speak with parents. The same principles apply in our prayer to God, a lot of believers are still children in their spiritual development but we don’t realize it.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Acts 4 vs 13 (NLT),&nbsp;The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures.
