Free Choice with Simone and Leisa

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Today, I'm having a conversation with my friend, Simone Griffin. We're talking about the recent overturning of Roe vs. Wade and some of the considerations that we have in our own lives is the importance of economic freedom for women.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Simone and Leisa shares with us their insights:</span><span style= "font-weight: 400;"> </span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><em><span style= "font-weight: 400;">Simone: The more we can stop, quiet the noise, not listen to divide, and figure out - 'Okay, what are you actually; what is your experience; what is your lived experience? I think the better we can do. But that is not promoted right now. That's very high. And the other side of it is, far too many of us live in very segregated societies with which we interact with only those that we know that are just lots of guts. That does not foster growth at all. And, again this goes beyond politics. This is just individuals here. If I never took the opportunity to get to know you then I am not going to understand life from your perspective. Doesn't mean I'm going to adopt. Maybe/maybe not. But I can at least learn from you. And unfortunately, we're so in our own little bubbles often. And I will include myself in this unless I remember to snap out of it. We remain in our bubbles and that allows us to divide even more. We just have to be mindful of that.</span></em></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><em><span style= "font-weight: 400;">    </span></em> <em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leisa: The idea that we can honor and respect one another's beliefs and values. They don't have to be our own, but that doesn't mean that we don't respect them. And that, perhaps, is why we're so passionate about the divisiveness. I mean passionate not in a good way. Like because we're watching people that were pretty darn certain if they were putting a room as tending a party together, they could find plenty of things that would connect them an
