Shortly after returning to New York, Nick and his longtime friend from Colgate, Rob Carroll, came up with an idea: Virtual Reality college campus tours.</p> <p>While the seed idea proved to be a flawed business concept, it forced Nick and Rob to think critically about the inequities in the college search process, which ultimately lead to a pivot away from VR and towards crowdsourcing authentic video content from real college students throughout the country and world.</p> <p>Nearly 6 years after the initial idea, Nick and Rob’s company, CampusReel has partnered with over 160 educational institutions in 12 different countries and is emerging as one of the fastest growing EdTech companies in the world.
