Man is creating his own avenue at returning back to God. The has resulted in creating rules, procedures, practices, and expectations. This in turn had created false hope and expectation. It has made man appear pious on one hand but added additional weight to man’s problem on the other hand. What Jesus offered us through salvation is relationship. It is the relationship to share God’s divinity through obedience. It does not create false expectation and hypocrisy. Jesus said Luke 11 vs 46 (TPT), Jesus responded, “You are also hypocrites, you experts of the law! You crush people beneath the burden of obeying impossible religious regulations, yet you would never even think of doing them yourselves.</p> <p><br></p> <p>Jesus confronted religious class of His days accusing them of placing burden on the people. The issue Jesus had with them was that while proclaiming the extra practices, they do not implement those practices. In essence, the Pharisees, the teachers of the Law and Sadducees were all good giving extra meaning to the scripture. In this way, they had found was of making unnecessary demands of the people whereas they do not practise the same. By doing so, they made people’s life miserable. In the present day, there are many religious statements that sound pious and appear to be real, but they are not necessarily right and true. One of such statement is heaven help those who help themselves. Another one is the voice of the people is the voice of God. When we pay adequate attention to these statements, we find out that they are not accurate using Bible as a standard reference.</p> <p><br></p> <p>One religious statement that could get into trouble is this concept of forgive and forget. The statement appears real, right, and correct. But how scriptural is this statement? Did
