Forever young? - Prolonging the shelf-life of food

The UN's Food and Agricultural Organization says 1.3bn tonnes of food are discarded every year. Yet over 820 million people worldwide go hungry. Now a US company has developed a liquid which can extend the shelf-life of fruit and vegetables.
