Hawaii repopated a startling 1,035 new COVID infections Friday and nine additional fatalities ― both new highs for single-day totals. It’s the first time Hawaii has seen more than 1,000 new COVID cases in a single day. Earlier this month, the state reported 1,167 new cases, but said some were from previous days because of lab issues.
