Fire Island And What's Making Us Happy

The new rom-com<em> Fire Island </em>puts a queer spin on Jane Austen's <em>Pride and Prejudice</em>. Written by and starring Joel Kim Booster, the film centers around a group of queer friends who decamp to Fire Island every summer. Booster and his best friend (Bowen Yang) are outsiders among the cliquish community of white wealthy gay privilege, and when love comes along, it places their friendship in jeopardy. <em>Fire Island </em>is directed by Andrew Ahn and is streaming on Hulu.
