Intros / banter 😆 Role @ Shep? currently I am part of the Bridge program in partnership with Shepherd and IWU ministry major going addictions counseling Rotating in student ministries before I take over program coordinator at school 58 after-school Fellow; Part time at academy in 5th grade classroom, part time at 58 after school Where from? From Tampa FL Just north of Minneapolis MN How got to Shep? On a mission trip with Encuentro- a preacher named Shawn asked the congregation to approach the alter if they felt like they were lost/were ready to answer what God had for them —> linked me with Allen I felt very lost on my journey of what I was going to be doing in the fall after graduating HS. I was then introduced to it from a mentor at home who is connected to shepherd and works a lot with them. What are you learning? Ministry as a concept of WITH and not TO The difference on living in an area that’s on a different end of the spectrum. Wealthy and middle class areas to poor and low income area. How different the groups are and how people handle life. But also learning how to be the hands and feet of Jesus the best I can all day everyday. What has surprised you? What’s hard? Quiet time; holding yourself accountable for taking time to have sweet moments with the Lord. ^^ but also setting time aside for yourself to replenish and be refreshed. Having discipline to make time for healthy habits. What’s rewarding? laughter Seeing the kids and families excited to see you and give you hugs Why should someone apply for summer intern/fellowship? It’s God’s way of saying: you have time. You don’t have to have it all figured out coming out of high school or even college. Nobody does. You have time to think
