In some parts of the country, unemployment remains very high. Federal officials say it may make sense to keep at least some money flowing to unemployed Americans past the September cut-off. We check in on the status of department stores, many of which boasted positive earnings numbers to the surprise of some. Also, Broadway will be featuring seven new pieces from Black playwrights this season.</span></p>
