Description

Homily given at the 4:30 pm Mass on Saturday, February 22, 2020, the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Dcn. Dan Foley, Christ the King Catholic Church.

Dcn. Dan notes that the concept of limited retribution introduced in the first reading from Leviticus was revolutionary. It took more than a millennium to prepare the people of Israel for the fullness of the teaching on forgiveness given by Jesus as recorded in today's Gospel. The command to love our enemies is at the very heart of who we are called to be as baptized Christians.

Keywords: conversion, forgiveness
