I’m pretty sure you know what I’m talking about.</p> <p>But there is another way …</p> <p> </p> <h3><strong><span style="color: #ff9900;">What We do in the Dark</span></strong></h3> <p>Well, it’s great to be with you again this week. I’m not sure if you were able to join us last week but we began a new series called “Dark Night, Bright Light”. Darkness, well, we all travel through darkness in our lives. There are times when, I don’t know, the storm clouds just come rolling over the top and maybe we’ve been sick or maybe we have lost someone we love or maybe we have been hurt and it’s not to say that we are a bunch of losers. I don’t mean that, it’s just the reality of life.</p> <p>Jacqui, my wife, was talking to a long time friend of hers and their children are growing up and there are lots of challenges and problems and she is just exhausted. Or a dear friend of mine whose son committed suicide and he and his wife are still reeling from that. Or a friend who has been retrenched and he’s in his fifties and it’s hard to find a job. Stuff like that happens – dark times; difficult times, well, in those darknesses, we just can’t see where we are or where we are headed.</p> <p>I have had them, you’ve had them and that’s life. Jesus said this amazing thing – He said: “I am the light of the world,” and one of the things we saw last week is that He is in the <em>"light"</em> business and that’s good news for anyone going through a dark patch. The very first thing that God created in Genesis chapter 1 was <em>"light"</em> – a trillion, trillion stars, at least – God is definitely in the <em>"light"</em> business. Halleluiah!
