Fall Journal Club: Juice Displaces Milk and Fruit in High School Lunches

<p>Meals that provided through the National School Lunch Program have become significantly healthier since the regulations that emerged as part of the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act. This presentation will review the requirements for school meals; highlight changes from the HHFKA; and present a study that tested how the availability of juice influenced student selection of fruit and milk as part of their school lunch. Additional research on evidence-based strategies to increase the selection and consumption of fruit and vegetables in school meals will be shared.
