Exploring research bias and how that mis-leads the general public.

<p>In order to improve my health I have spent years doing research, listening to doctors and scientists and experimenting on myself. And what I have learned through this is that you cannot take anything at face value. When someone says something (a pill, a supplement a pharmaceutical etc.) works in a certain way, they should have the data to back it up. And it often appears that they do, HOWEVER, when you look under the surface we see a surmountable bias in studies funded by profitable industries rather than independent third parties. </p> <p>In todays episode we will go over: Some of the tactics / biasses present in industry funded (pharma etc.) research studies and how this impacts the sale of drugs, specifically chemotherapy. In the second half we will discuss the studies completed in the last year on a new gene technology and how the absolute risk reduction differs from a relative risk reduction in these studies.</p> <p>The purpose of this episode is to help all of us become aware of how industries can manipulate statistics to appear more favourable.
