Description

The expected move in a stock can always be presented in a number of ways, and two of the more common approaches are the blue-dashed line and the copper strip that you see inside of the tastyworks platform. So what’s the difference between the two? Essentially, the blue-dashed line represents the one standard deviation markers on the normal distribution at that time, and the copper strip shows you the anticipated range based on actual option prices - starting with the at-the-money straddle.

Be sure to connect with Dr. Jim on Twitter!
