Excellent Wife - On Love & Marriage Part 4

The book of wisdom, Proverbs, ends with a poem on the Excellent Wife. Packed with hyperbolic, and militaristic imagery, the poem is given by King Lemuel's mother, as a word of wisdom for the king in his choosing of a wife. The poem emphasizes character, that a woman of valor is far more precious than jewels. And that the choosing of an excellent wife will bring good to the king, all the days of her life. It is a song directed to men, for women, for the ways in which a man would offer a woman praise, to celebrate all the daily acts of faithfulness exhibited by the women in their lives.
