Ex-convict testing ‘bulletproof’ charm dies in Ondo

<p>Tunde Akinmoyewa, an ex-convict, met his untimely demise on Friday in Ondo State while carrying out a traditional experiment to assess the effectiveness of a purported bullet repelling charm.</p>, <p>It was gathered that the 27-year-old victim was fatally shot with a dane gun by his friend identified as Bode.</p>, <p>The tragic incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. within Laoso camp, located in Ondo West Local Government Area of the State.</p>, <p>Eyewitnesses revealed that the deceased and his friend had consumed a specially concocted portion, believed to be capable of rendering them immune to bullet wounds.</p>, <p>The charm was prepared by a native doctor who assured them of its invincibility against gunfire.</p>, <p>Seeking to put the charm’s efficiency to test, Tunde purportedly requested that Bode should fire the first shot at him.</p>, <p>However, as soon as the dane gun was discharged, Tunde immediately collapsed, losing his life in the process.</p>, <p>Upon realising the tragic outcome of their ill-fated experiment, Bode fled the scene in panic, leaving behind the lifeless body of his friend.</p>, <p>One of the sources added that following the incident, Tunde was rushed to a clinic at the camp, where he was confirmed dead.</p>, <p>Meanwhile, the incident has left the community in shock and disbelief.</p>, <p>Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, described the deceased and his friend as cultists.</p>, <p>He said, “one Tunde Akinmoyewa, a male ex-convict who is also a cultist, while testing a locally made gun believed to be newly procured, was accidentally shot by one of his boys, named Bode.</p>, <p>“As a result of which he died while being taken to the hospital for medical attention.</p>, <p>“Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the mortuary, and efforts are in top gear to arrest the suspect.”</p>
