EPL: Guardiola reveals why Man City didn’t buy Maguire, Cucurella, Alexis Sanchez

<p>Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has revealed why the Premier League champions did not complete certain deals in the past.</p>, <p>Speaking to reporters on Friday, Guardiola insisted that they will not pay above what they feel is a “fair” price.</p>, <p>In the past, City were linked with Harry Maguire when he was at Leicester City and Alexi Sanchez who was at Arsenal at the time.</p>, <p>However, they ended up pulling out of the deals. Maguire and Sanchez both joined Manchester United, while Marc Cucurella went to Chelsea.</p>, <p>“We have to see what happens in the market and if we can do it and to pay what we believe is fair.</p>, <p>“We wanted (Harry) Maguire and didn’t buy him because we didn’t want to pay, we wanted (Marc) Cucurella and didn’t pay, we wanted Alexis Sanchez and didn’t pay.</p>, <p>“In the end we will pay what is fair to do it. Otherwise we have the academy. We won’t be desperate just to get another player,” Guardiola said.</p>
