EPL: Come here and do it – Guardiola blasts Man City fan over criticism

<p>Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has said he asked a supporter to take his place on the touchline during their 1-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.</p>, <p>The fan, who sat beside the dugout, criticised Guardiola for not making any substitutions.</p>, <p>The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager then gestured to the supporter to come and replace him following a verbal confrontation.</p>, <p>Speaking after the match at the Etihad, Guardiola also revealed why he didn’t make a single substitution in a league game for the first time since May 2022.</p>, <p>“He asked me to make the substitutions, one player out and one in, and I asked him which one, I didn’t know it.</p>, <p>“I said ‘come here and do it.’ I saw that the team at that moment was still alive and sometimes to come in, the rhythm is difficult.</p>, <p>“I saw the team were still there and fighting for every ball. The managers, we have that option to make the substitutions but the managers decide or not,” Guardiola said.</p>
