Episode 79: Where’s My Wallet? (Intermediate English)

<p>Waking up early has a lot of <strong>benefits</strong> – you <strong>avoid</strong> the <strong>rush</strong> of getting ready for work and you can take your time to enjoy a <strong>leisurely</strong> breakfast. I usually wake up early so that I can have a relaxed start to the day. That was not <strong>the case</strong> last Thursday.</p> <p>I woke up late and it completely <strong>threw off</strong> my morning routine. I had to <strong>rush</strong> to get ready and head to work. I made it to work on time and everything was smooth until my lunch break.</p> <p>I had a long lunch break that day, so I decided to go grocery shopping. After finally finding everything I needed at the store and just as I was about to <strong>check out</strong>, I realized that I didn’t have my wallet with me. I thought I had left it at home, so I couldn’t buy anything. I was so <strong>frustrated</strong>! I went home during my lunch break to see if I could find my wallet. And <strong>it turned out</strong>, it was in my backpack the <strong>whole time</strong>. I guess I was just so <strong>distracted</strong> that I didn’t even remember putting it there in the morning.</p> <p>This experience was definitely <strong>a lesson learned</strong> – now I always make sure to double check that I have my wallet and everything else that I need to take with me before I leave the house!
