She had no prior experience with retail or working with mannequins. But what she did have was a degree in journalism. She graduated from the University Of Southern California, followed by 20+ years of experience working at Fortune 500 companies. This award-winning businesswoman says that “a brief stint at a dot com and a craigslist post changed everything for me”. That day she found herself looking on Craigslist for Tina Turner concert tickets, and stumbled upon a posting for a mannequin for sale. When she contacted the seller, they had 50 mannequins for sale. She bought them, learned the business, and now presently has 4 employees, 4 contractors, and a warehouse. She has won numerous awards for her business and is the only African American mannequin dealer in the United States. Her distinguished clientele includes companies like Nike, Prada, Saks 5th Avenue, Target, and more! Her business has also been featured on Forbes.com, Oprah, and The Huffington Post to name a few.
