Episode 229 Doug Gust: "Independent to a factory ride"

<p>In 2003 Doug was talked into riding an LTZ 400. This was the best thing to happen to Doug, earning a factory ride with Suzuki that lasted until he retired in 2009.</p><p>Building a new machine that wasn't a pro-level and learning not to damage his race machine limited what the factory would do for the practice machine. Doug wanted more of a race quad. The reason for the slower stock machine was the hours Doug put into them and the cost of parts.</p><p>Spanning more than 20 years of career, Doug Gust showed the way and put all the other racers on alert. They knew it was never a give-me when Doug Gust showed up. All the hard work and hard times paid big dividends.
