Episode 12: Band-Aids Feel Good w/ Mikai Arion

<p>In this episode, we catch up with artist Mikai Arion and talk about the changes in her art life pre and post-Rona, particularly her thesis work and the graduation that never was. She also talks about her upcoming book, “Mustard Greens”,  a fictional (but non-fiction based) collection of stories about Black being and environmental racism and the dynamics of dreams, space, and power in American history. In addition, we chat about the conundrum of needing money but questioning capitalism as (Black) artists, her documentary, “Sanctuary”, on Black economic power within Portland, how the pandemic will impact Black economic status, arting while on them trees, and Tiger King.
