<p><strong>This week, Murder, My Dude takes a little detour to the Old West to explore the life, times, and death of one of the greatest confidence men in American history: Jefferson Randolph “Soapy” Smith II.</strong></p> <p><strong>Born into privilege to a wealthy family in (barely) pre-Civil War Georgia, the fall of the Confederacy and Reconstruction altered this son of a lawyer and grandson of a plantation owner’s destiny, but he still reached incredible heights through dubious means before meeting an untimely end.</strong></p> <p><strong>We explore the swindles, the supporting cast, and the sad end of Soapy in this episode!</strong></p> <p><strong>But first!
