<p>Ezinaụlọ means family in Igbo. </p> <p><br></p> <p>Using 6 key words, as explained by @nwaadaigbo, one can derive at many other vocabulary words used to describe different family members. </p> <p>Those words are:</p> <ul> <li>Nne- Mother </li> <li>Nna- Father </li> <li>Nwa- Child </li> <li>Ụmụ- Children </li> <li>Nwaanyị </li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>(Other common words for children: ụmụaka, nwata, and nwatakiri) </p> <p><br></p> <p>Examples of this formula in use</p> <ul> <li>Nwa nwoke- (male+ child) = Son </li> <li>Nwanne nwoke- (child of my mom that is male)= Brother </li> <li>Nwanne nwaanyị - (child of my mom that is female)= Sister </li> <li>Umunne- (children of my mom)= my siblings </li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>Other Vocabulary we learn:</p> <ul> <li>Grandfather- Nna Ochie/ Nna nna</li> <li>Grandmother Nne Ochie/ Nne nne</li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>There are words used in Igbo used to specifically highlight the position of a child in the family.
