We live in a microwave society “Ping” and the reward is there almost instantaneously with no afterthought on how we will pay for it. Combined with the always-on world of smartphones, which reinforces that you have to get what you want right away. However instant gratification isn’t always best – in fact, impulse control is an essential life skill. When it comes to achieving your goals, delayed gratification is the skill that you need to master to get you there faster.</p> <p><br></p> <p>So how do you master this Delayed Gratification?</p> <p><br></p> <p>Luckily, you don’t need to head back to school to understand this as Jim Parker and Richard Cook are on hand to take you through what delayed gratification means and how to resist the temptation of the immediate reward.
