EP373: Enneagram 101 - Exploring the Underlying Emotions of Enneagram Centers of Intelligence
Lòrdèss Mãggìë II
Description
In this episode, I dive into understanding the Centers of Intelligence and how this is key to understanding oneself and others. These centers, including the gut or instinctual center, the heart or feeling center, and the head or thinking center, house the nine Enneagram types. Depending on an individual's core Enneagram type, they default to a specific center of intelligence. Recognizing which center someone operates from provides insights into their underlying emotions, motives, and fears.

For instance, the gut center (types 8, 9, and 1) is motivated by independence, autonomy, and control, with frustration or anger as their underlying emotion. The feeling center (types 2, 3, and 4) focuses on significance and self-image, with shame as their underlying emotion. The thinking center (types 5, 6, and 7) prioritizes safety and security, with fear or anxiety as their underlying emotion.

Understanding someone's center of intelligence enhances communication effectiveness in all areas of life. It fosters a better understanding of their motivations, fears, and emotional experiences, leading to greater empathy and connection. Additionally, comprehending one's own center of intelligence promotes self-awareness and personal growth.

By understanding these aspects of the Enneagram, individuals gain a more comprehensive understanding of themselves and others. This enables them to communicate more effectively, reduce judgment towards themselves and others, and navigate personal and professional lives with increased self-awareness and growth.

Connect with Tracy:
Tracy’s Website http://tracyomalley.com/
Tracy on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/tracy_omalley/
Tracy on Facebook https://www.f
