Description

With acid washed jean shorts and heavy metal hair, Andre Agassi, a tennis legend who was once sponsored by Nike and Cannon, is known for an ad campaign that announced to the world, “image is everything.” Along with that campaign came new scrutiny of Agassi and his life on and off the court. During the 1990 French Open, while washing his wig the night before a match, he prayed the wig wouldn’t fall off, not that he would win the match. He lost because of his focus on image, not the match. In his autobiography, Open, Agassi stated, “the slogan become synonymous with me. Sportswriters liken this slogan to my inner nature, my essential being. They say it’s my philosophy, my religion, and they predict it’s going to be my epitaph.” Can you focus on image and be authentic. With the advent of social media “image management” takes on a new meaning as image now not just what you say about yourself, but what others say about you. So was Agassi right? Is image everything? Do we need to pay attention to image? Can you build an image and be authentic? Goats to include XXXXXX. We serve it up in a way you can get it.
