The trials and tribulations of developing a new business took years of hard work, overcoming mistakes and eventually, transforming into the successful business that it is today. Bernstein has been coloring out of the lines her entire life. Perhaps one can say that Melissa‘s creativity began as a child, making Barbie clothes out of a curtain in her living room.&nbsp;</p><br><p><br></p><p>Searching for meaning in her life, Melissa’s husband, Doug, prompted her to alter her career path and use her creativity to change the world. After a brainstorming weekend on how to move forward, the Bernstein’s followed their passion to unleash children’s imaginations by encouraging open-ended play with their products.&nbsp;</p><br><p><br></p><p>Melissa &amp; Doug is partnered with The American Academy of Pediatrics and focuses on child development and how toys can influence children to engage in open-ended play, providing the child the chance to think on their own.
