Ep. 44 - Exceptional Children in Special Education

<div> <p>Special education, or special needs education, is the practice of educating students with special needs in a way that addresses their individual differences and needs.</p> <p>Laws have been created to support all children in their ability to learn.</p> <p>These provisions in education for children with disabilities or learning differences differs from country to country, and state to state.</p> <p>My guest Olga Lingo, is a teacher with 18 years of experience in special education, listen in as she navigates us through the process and expectations for these exceptional children.</p> </div> <div> </div> <div>Olga lives in Mooresville, NC with her husband, Marty. She has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. I have a BA in Liberal Arts in Social Work from Kent State University and an MAT in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have been teaching for 18 years in Special Education in the areas of severe profound and moderate intellectual disabilities.
