<p>Did you know that Barbie is named after the creator's daughter? Ruth Handler was the co-founder of Mattel Inc., and her daughter's name was Barbara. This is where we get the name 'Barbie' from. Ken, however, Barbie's boyfriend and later ex-husband, was named after Ruth's son Kenneth.
