Ep. 272 Hodder Show Music Showcase: The Laid Off LP by Hodder

This was a big first for me and I don't think there was anyone better to do it with! The Laid Off LP by Hodder (not this Hodder but another Hodder) is the very first hiphop/rap album or EP I've ever showcased on the show and I think it was the perfect one to break the ice with. Aside from the fact the obviously Hodder and I share the same name I really enjoyed this record! Hodder is able to effortlessly blend modern hiphop/R&B styles that you could hear on the radio with a rap and song writing slow that is unique and doesn't sound like anyone I've heard. With obvious influences from heavier hitters he still keeps true to himself  and the east coast hip hop style that to me sounds like nothing else all while features some great artists from the East Coat Lil Freaza, Ryley Urban, Twstr and Blossom Complex. The Laid off LP has fun songs about whats going on in the world right now, relationships and other relatable topics while still having some serious personal lyrics from Hodder in which he isn't afraid to bear his soul.
