empowHER Leadership Retreat | Segment 1 - Intro To The Event

1 - In this segment, Julie and Kristine highlight what to expect at the event and how you can be involved! Whether you’re a parent, registrants, volunteer, mentor, or sponsor - this is the event for you. The empowHER Leadership Retreat was created to provide fourth- through ninth-grade girls from all different backgrounds with the tools to find confidence, passion, and purpose in their lives. In these six segments hear from Suzy Merchant, Michigan State University Women’s Basketball Head Coach and empowHER founder who was inspired to create this event after a tragic loss of one of her recruits; Ann Crain, Board Operations Chair and Angela Michael, Mentor Co-Chair. This is the seventh year, and the retreat registration opens on April 21 for the June 25, 2022, in-person event, held at the Breslin Center of East Lansing, MI. With support and education in the interactive workshops, empowHER girls learn to embrace their strengths and differences, build their self-confidence and participate in service projects that demonstrate the importance of giving back to their community.
