<p>Legendary New York radio broadcaster, Joan Hamburg, was fortunate enough to have a very unusual mother. Her mother insisted Joan get a great education regardless of the social norms of the time. Yet having a very successful career mom wasn't always easy for Joan's children.She opened her heart and home to her radio family.</p><p>Education, practice and lots of hard work are just a few of the characteristics that Christopheren Nomura learned from his Japanese American parents. He started singing at a very young age with his mother and the rest is history. His family overcame tremendous difficulties as immigrants and Christopheren dedicated his life to singing professionally.</p><p>Since this episode was recorded, Christopheren has taken on two teaching positions: Stonybrook University on Long Island and Seton Hall University in New Jersey.</p>
