<p>Mike Oziegbe Onolememen, a former minister of works and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced his resignation from the party.</p>, <p>The party chieftain has sent his resignation letter to the party chairman in Edo State, Tony Azerbaijan.</p>, <p>In his letter, he stated that he was no longer interested in being a party member.</p>, <p>Onolememen was a founding member of the main opposition party and has been in the party since 1998.</p>, <p>According to him, Godwin Obaseki has taken the party as his private property since becoming a member a couple of years ago.</p>, <p>“I write to formally inform you and the entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that I am resigning my membership from the party, effective immediately,” he said.</p>, <p>He said that the decision followed due consultation following the protracted conflict in the party.</p>, <p>“I want to use the opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the journey since I joined the party in 1998.”</p>
