Ecowas defense chiefs meets to discuss potential military force in Niger

<p>The West African bloc ECCOWAS has reiterated it is still willing to intervene militarily in Niger, more than three weeks after the coup d'etat. ECOWAS leaders met in Accra, Ghana today - for the first of two days of urgent talks - on how to restore the democratically elected government of President Bazoum. Nigeria has emerged as the strongest voice pushing for military action...but all leaders at the summit say diplomacy remains their preferred route out of the crisis.<br/> </p>
