Diversity in literature: The New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane

<p>On this episode of On Good Authority, we sit down with writer <a href="https://mauricecarlosruffin.com/">Maurice Carlos Ruffin</a> to discuss the inspiration behind his debut novel <em>We Cast a Shadow</em> and his most recent collection of short stories <em><a href= "https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/16/books/review/maurice-carlos-ruffin-the-ones-who-dont-say-they-love-you.html">The Ones Who Don’t Say They Love You</a>.</em> An award-winning author, Ruffin has used fictional storytelling to raise awareness about race issues in America and highlight the people of New Orleans and the city’s culture. He is one of more than 100 authors taking part in the inaugural New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane University this week.</p>
