Despite Headwinds, Investors Remain Bullish on U.S. Renewables, a conversation with Kevin Lynch

<p>In this episode of <em>High Tea Low Carbon, </em>host Claire Sharp – Managing Director of Kaiserwetter Americas – reconnects with her friend Kevin Lynch, Managing Director of External Affairs of leading U.S. clean power provider Avangrid Renewables.</p><p>With his nearly 30 years of experience in the electric power industry – 15 of which in the renewable electric power sector – Lynch brings a well-founded perspective on the U.S. renewable energy sector to this latest episode of <em>High Tea Low Carbon</em>.</p><p>Over the course of their discussion, Lynch, a coffee drinker, and Sharp reflect upon the momentum the U.S. renewable energy sector had heading into the global COVID-19 pandemic and how the challenges of the social distancing era have shaped the industry outlook, as well as what measures Avangrid Renewables is taking to adapt and successfully manage its more than 6,000 MW of owned and controlled wind and solar power facilities across the country.</p><p>Importantly, Lynch expresses confidence in the vitality and resilience of the U.S. renewable energy market, arguing that even in this incredibly unpredictable investment environment we can expect to see Avangrid and other investors remain bullish. Why? Because, among other things, the rate and scale of technological and procedural improvement afford investors ample reason for optimism.</p><p>For evidence, Lynch cites a recent series of tests that Avangrid conducted in partnership with the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
