Derrick Porter

Derrick Porter, CEO of Beauty Industry Group (BIG), has spent the last 15 years<br>building BIG into a global portfolio of beauty brands with offices in 5 countries on three<br>continents. As the company has grown Derrick has partnered with two leading private<br>equity firms, Gauge Capital and Huntsman Gay Global Capital, together acquiring eight<br>companies and resulting in its products now being sold in more than 165 countries.<br>Derrick was recently recognized by Ernst &amp;amp; Young as 2020 Entrepreneur of the Year in<br>the Utah Region and was honored by Goldman Sachs as one of the top 100 most<br>intriguing entrepreneurs at its 2020 Builders + Innovators Summit. Derrick also sits on<br>the board of the World Trade Center, Utah, and in that capacity serves as Chair of the<br>Global Business Services Committee.<br><br>Prior to his time at BIG, Derrick built and operated Porter Brown Distribution, a third-<br>party logistics company with facilities in Texas, Colorado, and Utah. Porter is also a<br>principle in a multi-family real estate development office with properties along the<br>Wasatch Front. He graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Technical Sales from Weber<br>State University and earned his MBA from The Ohio State University.<br><br>Whether on skis or a bike, Derrick enjoys spending his free time high in the mountains.<br>The highlight of Derrick’s week is time spent with his wife and six children and working<br>with his sons on their entrepreneurial pursuits.
