Depression is Anger Suppressed
Dounia & Ihssas
Description

In this episode I addressed anger, which is natural emotion, and how the way it is expressed plays a role in whether it can be positive or otherwise. spoke about how men and men tend to be viewed differently when it comes to anger and how this can at times have an effect on how anger is suppressed or expressed. Also, when it comes to anger, race can play a role as well. I mentioned that black women at times have to contend with the "angry black woman" stereotype and expectation, while also being expected to be emotionless at other times.

Not all depression is linked to anger, however there are many cases where we see the mental health toll it takes on the average person who experiences deep rooted anger for an extended period of time. Because everyone deals with anger, just on different levels and in different ways, I believe this will be a timely message for someone who is having a challenging time dealing with anger and depression. I did not go into depth about possible ways to address it or where it may stem from, this was to get us to start thinking about anger and possible links to depression we may be battling.

In the future we can dive deeper into the topic of anger if that would be helpful.

Don't forget to follow me on other platforms listed below:

https://www.instagram.com/choosetolivehealthier

https://www.facebook.com/choosetolivehealthier

https://twitter.com/mslildesi

Side note: I actually got this episode title idea from Bob Proctor. He mentioned that depression is anger suppressed, so then I decided to do an episode since I have addressed depression before.
--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/naturalholisticlady/support
